Western Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials
Western Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials
Written Test
• The only written exam for 2024 will be the online test provided by the National Federation.
1) To be able to take the online exam, you must first register with DragonFly. DragonFly is the new registration system that the National Federation is using. To register with DragonFly, follow these directions: Directions to register with DragonFly
2) Directions to get to the test is at the end of the above directions.
3) The exam will open on August 15 and close on September 15. You have THREE attempts to achieve a passing score of 80%. All officials who wish to be considered for regional or state final assignments must pass with a score of 85 or above.
4) The questions are randomized (meaning that every official gets questions in a different order). There are no Maine-specific questions.
5) Whether returning to an account from last year or creating a new one, you will need to register with NFSH|NFOA Tier 2 Organizations at some point. You must pay $25 plus associated fees (a little less than $30). If you don't register with NFHS, you cannot get to the test.
Be careful: When you go to pay the fee, a $10 fee is added to pay for access to the NFHS Network. You do not have to pay this $10 unless you want that subscription. Many have this subscription to watch high school basketball games. I'm unsure how many soccer games are being streamed now. If you do not want the subscription, uncheck the box.
