Western Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials

Awards

Player & Coach Awards

WMBASO will award 3 boys and 3 girls varsity Player Awards for the 2022 season.  In addition, the membership will recognize one coach from all of the teams for the singular Coaches Award.  At the end of a game, the officials working that contest should discuss which players, if any, merit recognition.  The criteria to be considered are: leadership, sportsmanship, and skill.  Officials may submit nominations for deserving players and coaches by clicking on the link below:

2023 WMBASO Player and Coach Award Recommendation by Game

Voting closes October 28.  The committee will double check all recipients with Dennis Crowe to insure that the individuals nominated have not received a red card or more than one yellow card during the season. At that time the Board will discuss and select a coach to receive the Coach's Award.

Membership on the Awards Committee is open to all Board members in good standing.  Please contact an existing Committee member or a member of the Executive Committee with your expression of interest.

Bob White Award

In 2014, the Maine Association of Soccer Officials voted to establish the Bob White Award to be given annually to the MASO official who best exemplifies Bob's characteristics as an official and a person. The lone recipient will be selected from nominations made by local boards. The criteria for the award will be codified by the committee from the Executive Board and promulgated to the local MASO Boards. That committee will accept and review the nominations before selecting the yearly honoree.
